Why is it so important to enter the SITA Smart Idea-Solutions Challenge?
As SITAzens we need new ideas to progress, and to drive the digital transformation of SITA and government
What kind of idea qualifies for the SITA Smart Ideas-Solutions Challenge?
Your team needs to look at an internal SITA issue and find an innovative solution.
How must a team be made up?
A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 SITAzens can collaborate in each team. This includes FTCs and interns.
Are there any SITAzens who cannot participate in the SITA SMART Ideas-Solutions?
Members of the Smart Ideas-Solutions Challenge and related projects are not eligible to enter.

When we get together in our teams, does it matter what departments other participants come from?
Absolutely not. The point of the SMART Idea-Solutions is to foster collaboration, so the more you integrate with SITAzens from other disciplines or departments in coming up with innovative solutions, the better.
What is most important about innovation at SITA?
There are two things we look for. First, it needs to be more than just a good idea; it must be operationally implementable and second, it must be a completely new method, idea, product or service or a significant improvement over something that exists.
Is it just about coming up with something new?
No, not at all. Innovation, at its core, is about adding value: to yourself, to SITA and by no means least to the people we ultimately serve – South Africa’s citizens.
